Team Dental Implants

Dental implants replace decayed, diseased, or missing teeth including the tooth root and the crown.

Implants are permanent, and will provide both the bite strength and appearance of a natural tooth or teeth while also preserving your jawbone structure.

Different Types of Implants

Implant types range from single tooth replacements to mini-implants and all-on-four implants. There are a variety of different implant types, each made for a specific use, whether to replace one or many missing teeth. All implants consist of three different parts: the artificial tooth root which is the base for the replacement tooth; a metal frame attached to the base, which is called an abutment, designed to hold an artificial tooth; and the artificial tooth itself. All-on-four implants replace a full upper or lower arch of teeth using four implants for support.

There are five main kinds of implants:

  • Single Tooth Dental Implants
  • Implant Supported Bridges
  • Implant Supported Dentures
  • All-on-Four Implants
  • Mini-Implants

Implants of all kinds improve your smile and also support your oral health including bone health. You care for them simply, using the same good routine oral hygiene you would use for your natural teeth, including brushing and flossing twice a day, and scheduling regular check-ups and cleanings with your dentist.

Will Dental Insurance Cover Implants?

Dental insurance may or may not cover implants. Some insurance plans may cover at least portions of dental implant costs. However, it's important to understand the type of treatment you need.

And, even if your dental insurance doesn't cover your dental implant surgery itself, your insurance might cover the crown, bridge, or the denture that is supported by your dental implants. At our office, we will submit a pretreatment estimate to your insurance company. While the estimate is never a guarantee of benefits or the amount your insurance company will pay, to make things easier, we’ll file all insurance claims as a courtesy.

So How Much Does an All-on-Four Implant Cost?

While the price varies by your own dental needs, a single dental implant usually ranges in cost from between $5,000 to $7,000. All-on-Four implants typically cost between $20,000 and $30,000 per arch.  While the amount is significant, and there are less expensive treatments available, for most patients, a dental implant is the best solution.

Is the Cost of an All-on-Four-Implant Worth the Result?

Wondering if the cost of an all-on-four dental implant is worth it, bear in mind that a dental implant has many benefits that a bridge or denture does not offer. While those options are less expensive, nothing tops a dental implant for bite strength, the health of your jaw, and the attractive, natural appearance of an implant. It is also a more permanent solution. You should consider each of these facts when deciding on an implant.
